Established hierarchical structures are effective for scaling recognisable problems with known solutions. But, to solve problems for which humankind doesn’t yet have a solution, where knowledge is imperfect and results uncertain, we need flatter, collaborative structures allowing us to pull resources and capabilities from the network as they are needed.
At the Mark Pollock Trust we are creating a global network of clinical, regulatory, legal, financial and business experts to support breakthrough neuro-tech spinout companies navigate the valley of death.
To build this network we harness the power of Mark’s colleagues in the Forum of Young Global Leaders and the wider World Economic Forum community as well as our corporate, philanthropic and government contacts at the Mark Pollock Trust.
Up to this point in history it has proven to be impossible to find a cure for spinal cord injury. But we believe we can change that if enough of the right people have the will to make it happen.
So, it is the Mark Pollock Trust’s mission to find and connect those people worldwide to fast track a cure for paralysis.
This year, we aim to raise €500,000 to fund our research programmes and build a world-class project management office to support scientists and technologists with the business expertise to translate their findings from the lab to the clinic.
